Pawsitively 4 Pink was founded in 2018 by Worcester psychotherapist Michelle Power, after witnessing firsthand how a breast cancer diagnosis doesn’t just impact a woman’s health — it shakes the financial stability of her entire family. As a psychotherapist, Michelle saw women doing everything they could to fight for their lives while quietly struggling to keep their homes, pay their bills, and care for their children.
This mission is also deeply personal. Michelle walked this path alongside her best friend, Liz, who bravely fought until her passing in 2024, and her foster mother, Pauline, a three-time survivor whose strength continues to inspire her every day. Through them—and through the many family members and acquaintances she has supported—Michelle came to understand just how overwhelming, isolating, and financially devastating this journey can be.
She started Pawsitively 4 Pink to ensure no woman has to choose between healing and basic survival—and that every woman has the stability, dignity, and support she deserves during one of the most difficult times in her life.
