Since 2018, Pawsitively 4 Pink has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars directly to low-income women battling breast cancer in Worcester and across Massachusetts. Not to overhead. Not to national campaigns. To rent, utilities, groceries, childcare, and transportation for local women in treatment — with support continuing up to six months after treatment ends, something no other breast cancer nonprofit in the region does. A cancer diagnosis feels lonely, but the fight doesn’t have to be.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we bring together local businesses, politicians, artists, and volunteers to fund this work — and 100% of the financial support we provide goes to expenses each woman chooses herself.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Turning Awareness Into Action
When is Breast Cancer Awareness Month? It is an annual breast cancer awareness observance held every October, from October 1 through October 31. It began in October 1985 as an awareness campaign led by the American Cancer Society, and in 1992 the pink ribbon became the universal symbol of breast cancer awareness. Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2026 runs October 1–31.
Why do we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Because awareness saves lives. It encourages early screening, honors every breast cancer survivor, and remembers the women we have lost. At Pawsitively 4 Pink, we believe the best way of celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to turn awareness into action, because a pink ribbon can’t pay the rent.
